Warhol can be considered the multimedia pioneer of art and one of the most influential artists of all time. The occasion for the Cars series was the 100th anniversary of the automobile. Warhol‘s artworks are icons of the 20th century – Campbell‘s soup, Jackie O., Marilyn and of course Mercedes cars.
