Olbinski is a painter and poet, but in contrast to the surrealists of earlier days the dreams in his paintings are more calming than stirring; his works are both – reality and dreams. His boundless imagination and his perfect technique have made him one of the most famous surrealists and he nearly seamlessly crosses the border between illustration and fine art. He has received more than 150 prestigious awards – including the prized Prix Savignac, the International Oscar for the world’s most memorable poster.
